Regular Meeting

March 10, 2022


The Riverside Town Council met in regular session at 6:00 pm with Mayor Pro Tem Edward Golden presiding. Council member present was Fred Lorenz. Also present were Stayton Mosley representing SCWEMSJP and Riverside Clerk /Treasurer Jana C. Cook. After it was determined Councilmember Mark Helwick would not attend, Mayor Leroy Stephenson led the meeting by telephone.


PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Those in attendance recited the Pledge of Allegiance.


MINUTES: Golden moved with Lorenz seconding to approve the minutes of the February 10, 2022 meeting. The motion passed.


FINANCIAL STATEMENT/BILLS: Lorenz questioned the financial statement stating the total of the county tax (778.62 for February) has not been added to the total Riverside income ($10,696.23 for February). It was determined the county tax amount is added into the gross profit ($11,474.85.) Lorenz agreed with the explanation. Golden moved with Lorenz seconding to pay bills in the amount of $14,300.95. This amount included a Specific Purpose Tax requisition request of $1,609.00. The motion passed.


INTRODUCTION OF GUESTS: Stayton Mosley, SCWEMS director distributed flyers for CPR training April 9, 2022 at the Encampment Opera House. The cost for the class is $30.00.


REPORTS:

CCCOG: Meeting 3/16/2022 in Hanna: Stephenson said he would be able to attend.

SOUTH CENTRAL WY EMSJPB: Council reviewed a report from Riverside Representative Helen Weiland.

PARKS: The clerk told the council she has not heard anything about the playground equipment.

SEWER: Stephenson told the council he spoke to Bob Lamphear and there is a problem with the generator at the sewer lift station.

STREETS: Lorenz told the council Cory Nuhn plowed the streets on Wednesday March 9, 2022 and again this morning.

SIERRA MADRE JOINT POWERS BOARD: No report.

SPECIFIC PURPOSE TAX: The clerk reminded the council of the approval of Requisition #6 for $1,609.00.

MOSQUITO: No report.

90 DAYS DELINQUENT: None.

ZONING/BUILDING: No report.

ACTION ITEMS: There were no action items.


ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA: There were no additions to the agenda.



CORRESPONDENCE:

Platte Valley Arts Council: The council read a letter from the Platte Valley Arts Council thanking the town for the contribution.

City of Rawlins-transfer station renewal: The council reviewed a public notice concerning a permit renewal application for the Rawlins Transfer Station.


UNFINISHED BUSINESS: There was no unfinished business.


NEW BUSINESS: There was no unfinished business.


With no further business being brought before the council, the meeting was adjourned at 6:21pm.
