Regular Meeting

December 8, 2022



The Riverside Town Council met in regular session at 5:00 pm with Mayor Leroy Stephenson presiding. Council members present were Fred Lorenz, Ed Golden and Mark Helwick. Also present were Lee Ann Stephenson, Virginia Parker representing the Saratoga Sun and Riverside Clerk/Treasurer Jana C. Cook.


PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Mayor Stephenson led those in attendance in the Pledge of Allegiance.


MINUTES: November 10, 2022 Regular Meeting: Lorenz pointed out that John Smith resigned from the Sierra Madre Joint Powers Board not the Specific Purpose Tax board. He moved with Golden seconding to approve the minutes with the correction. The motion passed.


FINANCIAL STATEMENT/BILLS: Helwick moved with Lorenz seconding to approve the financial statement and pay bills in the amount of $19,619.30. The motion passed. This amount includes a Specific Purpose Tax requisition request in the amount of $1,422.00.


INTRODUCTION OF GUESTS: Mayor Stephenson introduced Virginia Parker and Lee Ann Stephenson.


REPORTS:

CCCOG: There was no report.

SOUTH CENTRAL WY EMSJPB: There was no report.

PARKS: New Rest Rooms: Mayor Stephenson said the bid packets have been completed. The clerk said advertising began today in the Saratoga Sun and will run for 3 weeks. She said she found the addresses of 5 construction companies in the valley and will send the packets to each.

SEWER: Mayor Stephenson told the council the three sewer operators have had a busy month. Operator Cogswell is studying to take the operator’s test.

STREETS: No report.

SIERRA MADRE JOINT POWERS BOARD: Lee Ann Stephenson told the council because of the calendar the regular meeting of the board will not be until December 14th.

SPECIFIC PURPOSE TAX: Requisition #15. The council previously approved the requisition in the amount of $1,422.00.

MOSQUITO: No report.

90 DAYS DELINQUENT: There were none reported.

ZONING/BUILDING: No report.

ACTION ITEMS: There were no action items.

ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA: The clerk said she would like to close the town hall on Thursday December 29, 2022. The council approved the closure.

CORRESPONDENCE:

Grand Encampment Cowboy Gathering: The council read a thank you for the purchase of an ad in their program.

Valley Village Childcare: No action taken.

Bank of Commerce: No action was taken on the letter requesting the Bank of Commerce be named a depository for the Town of Riverside.


UNFINISHED BUSINESS: There was no unfinished business.


NEW BUSINESS:

Resolution 2022-6-Meeting Time Change. Lorenz moved with Golden seconding to approve the resolution authorizing regular meeting times during the winter months be 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm during the summer months. The motion passed.


With no other business being brought before the council the meeting was adjourned at 5:18 pm.
